Wow, just wanted to share this neat product I saw at Walmart today. For less than $2, you can purchase a package of 4 microwaveable individual servings of vegetables. There were carrots, corn, peas, and green beans at my local store. This is a store brand item- I didn't see anything like it in the major name brands. I will post more information once I have tried them, but at first glance it seemed like a great idea when you need to throw together a quick lunch for your child and want to give them something nutritious. It also may work for quick baby food when you are on the go- cook the vegetables in the microwave, mash them up, and start feeding!

This is a very controversial topic. More and more women are deciding to have labor induced for convenience, rather than medical necessity, and more and more doctors are accomodating these women. The fact remains that inductions pose their own set of risks. Contractions can be more severe, leading to higher pain and possibly uterine rupture, and there is higher risk of infection to the mother and baby, among many other risks. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has an excellent handout on this issue, located here. After having been through one induction for medical reasons (preeclampsia) I can absolutely say that I would not want to go through that again unless there is a darn good reason. Mother Nature has a plan for these things and, barring medical issues, I don't think there is a need to mess with it!
